Tiger Woods – Mini Midlife Crisis
Tiger Woods, the 1 billion dollar name brand, just got his first wrinkle.
In his published statement, the 33-year old says that he has not been true to his values. Clearly the time has come for this world famous athlete to enter adulthood and decide which values are truly his and which ones he accepted in return for the extraordinary success he thus far enjoyed.
People either have certain beliefs and values or they don‘t. What one must do as an adult is to make up one’s mind.
The question that arises it this:
Is the male midlife crisis all about their refusal to mature, fearing that this would bring them closer to impotence (=death)?
It is the children who suffer the most when their parents and adults they are surrounded with aren’t full grown adults. More often than not, in the presence of children, adults tend to put on a play of wisdom and superiority pretending their way into old age.
The most efficient pretenders give the appearance of perfection defined by patriarchal ideology somewhat adapted to modern times.
Moral perfection is one of the many unnatural, nonsensical patriarchal inventions, used as a way to compensate for perceived physical imperfections.
A cultural phenomenon that begun around the time human lifespan expanded beyond age 30.
Many people, especially males, fall into the trap set by archaic patriarchs in which the world can be won if one follows old men’s rules.
What they seem to overlook is that they themselves become (secretly or openly) bitter old men by the time they look back and realize that it was all an illusion.
The grand scheme of things invented, instituted, and maintained by male-sexual-enhancement-pill consumers, formerly known as Limp Dick & Fellowship.
Those who do take a deeper look before it‘s too late, learn that sexual and emotional experimentation is normal and natural, and that nearly every living, sexually functional human prefers periodic sexual variety over the monotony of monogamy.
Unfortunately, the idea of romantic commitment remains socially and culturally limited to two individuals who are to remain in a relationship until they can’t stand each other, which in turn is not just a guaranty for failure, but dishonesty and resulting ’betrayal’ as well.
The dishonesty and betrayal then lead to the loss of trust, respect, and personal and/or professional integrity.
A vicious cycle that could have been prevented by plain and simple honesty.
Honesty, however, would require authenticity with self-honesty being an integral part of it.
But then there’s the absolute incompatibility between self-honesty and patriarchal ideology.
Like Andre Agassi and his self-admitted drug abuse (good boy gone wild), Tiger Woods may have subconsciously wished to come out as a human being.
Something that would allow him to break away from the squeaky clean hyper-sponsored super-athlete image.
The male midlife crisis usually affects men between the ages of 30-60.
The symptoms are basically identical to those found in the Irritable Male Syndrome.
They may include the following: disillusionment, depression, insecurity, melancholy, anger, irritability, lowered overall drive (sexual and otherwise), fatigue, sadness, lethargy, aches, hair loss, slowed metabolism/recovery, emotional difficulties, search/need for distractions, and restless sleep.
The hormonal changes aging males experience are a higher aromatization of testosterone into estrogen, low HGH production, and overall declining androgen levels.
Affected males not only produce less testosterone, but they produce more estrogen, and on top of all that, their bodies gradually lose the ability to fully utilize testosterone due to a rise in SHBG, reduced dopamine production/reactivity, etc.
For this reason testosterone supplementation in men over 35 isn’t by far as effective as testosterone supplementation in women over 35.
Unlike men, women’s bodies remain responsive to testosterone/androgens well into old age, which is also why healthy, intact women never lose their libido for as long as they live.
