The Old Testament was written between 3,200-2,200 BP in Mesopotamia in a time when a nation could not form without a new religion. These new religions were usually hybridized native and neighboring religions which is why YHWH, the Jewish-Christian Abrahamic god, was never depicted in art.

@Sandra: rediscover your core, your true self. Leave behind stuff that hinders inner growth. Understand that based on our primal nature we are leaders not followers. Inform yourself, expand you knowledge and your awareness, the way it is being done on this and other sensitive subject threads and other sites, boards, blogs, etc.
Read some Riane Eisler who knows a lot about what she calls the dominator system, Merlin Stone, Stephanie Vermeulen, Catherine Blackledge. If you feel that their books speak to you…

The pronounced labia took the attention off the much feared clitoris, visually reducing the size of the demonized part that sticks out, giving the vulva an accommodating and passive look in stark contrast to the aggressive look of an erect (and often mutilated) penis, together serving the patriarchal ideology of opposite genders.

Patricia Robinett: “I have never seen so many people so upset. never seen so many 4-letter words. when will they get it that we still do a similar atrocity en masse to baby boys?”

@James: I meant to write FYI to quote you. Now let’s say we agree overall. You should know that I am no authority on any of these subjects, it’s simply a hobby.
I still think that patriarchal elements were around roughly 20,000 years (depending on region). There were some early signs of violent interruption in Europe/Balkans, like the sadistic cave art image of the pregnant woman and the bull in France, etc., that don’t signal egalitarianism/matriarchy.

Phil N. Molé: “Ayaan Hirsi Ali speaks here about the initial support by the American Association of Pediatrics for the proposed practice of “genital nicking” of girls, meant as a “compromise” to American Muslim parents who want to acknowledge the practice of female genital cutting. Thankfully, the AAP has dropped its initial support due to protest. Ayaan Hirsi Ali will be on Stephen Colbert tonight, so be sure to watch.”

@Jay: “… women CANNOT depend on men to ‘save’ or even help them in this or any discussion. Do that, and you’ll be waiting a long time, and so will your granddaughter’s grandkids.”
Great post and so true. It is sad to see how women refuse to accept facts. As an ecofeminist I feel that a large proportion of women live their lives in a slumber. Sort of like a beauty sleep of denialism.
Why is it so hard to accept the facts? Because it all goes back to us. We the women produce society. We create children, and for the most part we still raise them as mothers, caregivers, teachers, nurses, doctors, educators, voters, consumers, etc. etc…

@Chris: I hope that by beasts you don’t mean animals. Humans in fact are animals. The difference is that wild animals practice natural sexual behavior and humans do not. The result is the perversion of human sexuality. One example is sadism (rape, humiliation, degradation, etc.) or the intention to inflict psychological, emotional and/or physical pain. Another is masochism or the submission to sadism.

@Amen: exactly. If every case of child genital mutilation were to be reported as a crime to the police accompanied with criminal charges in accordance to various laws against assault, child sexual abuse, torture, etc. it would cease to be practiced.

To avoid clitoral castration and as an attempt to replace clitoral tissue lost to castration and regain some of the sensation, women eventually started teaching their pubescent daughters to methodically pull on their inner labia with the help of medicinal plants.

Because these ancient customs were carried on and survived from Sub-Saharan Africa to the Pre-Columbian Americas (before 1492), we can assume a single cultural origin.

Cold water was sometimes used to numb the flesh (comparable to the later Christian baptizing). The foreskin would be completely cut or burned off, or the underside of the penis would be sliced lengthwise (sub-incision) to bare the resemblance of a vulva, making sacrificial bloodletting a part of the initiation ritual.

So for equality’s sake I recommend that you educate yourself in the suggested areas. I did it and I became aware of many more things that have been going on and are still going on, all falling into the category of human rights violations with detrimental consequences for countless generations.

Genetic inheritance (‘tendencies’), lack of unconditional love/protection (primarily) on part of the mother, overall upbringing (environment, learned behavior) rooted in unnatural ‘order’ and consecutive ‘obedience’; as well as human (mammalian) nature/survival instinct. When you look at all of the three combined you see that we act in ways we think we should in order to survive, be accepted by society, etc.

The earliest idea of heterosexual monogamy and primitive marriage coincides with the clitoral castration ritual being done in preparation for womanhood.

Around 150,000 BP a woman lived in east Africa. Science calls her the ‘Mitochondrial Eve’.
Every human alive today is related to her.
She is our most common matrilineal ancestress because mitochondrial DNA is passed only from mother to child.
Her female contemporaries either passed before reproducing, had only sons, or were childless.

By 160,000 BP archaic Sapiens in East and North Africa and the Near East developed a culture in which childhood and puberty were prolonged beyond natural maturity, which in turn led to a slowed overall development when compared to other Homo species.
It is assumed that over the course of the Middle Paleolithic (300,000-30,000 BP), the total Homo population was at 1 million and that the overall birth rates were low with nursing lasting up to 5 years.

The tools they used evolved over time and space, reaching all 3 continents over the past 150,000-5,000 years.
Long distance barter trade networks were established by 120,000 BP enabling the exchange of locally unavailable goods.
Particularly since 100,000 BP, the archaic Sapiens experienced advancement comparable to that of the Neanderthal and beyond.

They were robust and very strong, 5’10” (178cm) tall, with a reduction in tooth size, a large nose, an increase in subcutaneous fat, thinning body hair, armpit hair, long, kinky hair (UV protection), a brain that grew from 750-1250cm³, and spoke a quasi language.

Perhaps now that it is widely accepted that a certain percentage of the population is homosexual, people are even more afraid that others (anyone) could possibly assume that they too are gay.

Bonobos live in large groups which split into smaller groups during the day in the search for food. Both, the larger and the smaller groups, are ran by adult females and consist of the adult female‘s young, her sons and their female partners.
Generally female dominance within various species of primates is far more common than previously reported.
Among chimpanzees, female coalitions are more solid and enduring then male ones.

Let’s assume that you sit a lot, can’t seem to drag yourself to the gym, easily feel bored with exercise and are annoyed with your flab.
How do you maximize the effect of your rather rare workouts, stay excited, and get and stay lean?

Phil N. Molé: “Here’s an example of homophobia and heterosexism in action. This piece discusses some interesting research about possible biochemical influences on sexual orientation, but also discusses some rather disturbing perspectives on that research. Some of the researchers discussed here view homosexuality and even “masculine” behavior on the part of girls/women as abnormalities, and suggest that pre-natal steroid treatments might be a good way of ensuring that girls grow up to fulfill their expected roles as women. And that’s really creepy.”
