But while religion definitely contributes to and enforces homophobia, it can’t reasonably be considered the cause of homophobia. For one thing, plenty of non-religious people are very homophobic. For another, religions get their characters from the societies in which they’re found, so we have to look at the norms of those societies if we want to understand where homophobia comes from.

Excellent article! Clearly the medical community would like to keep things as they are. Once the type of medicine you are suggesting along with regenerative medicine become widespread, most of the current standard procedures will be rejected, not just for their ineffectiveness, but for the damage they cause.

I still think that patriarchal elements were around roughly 20,000 years (depending on region). There were some early signs of violent interruption in Europe/Balkans, like the sadistic cave art image of the pregnant woman and the bull in France, etc., that don’t signal egalitarianism/matriarchy.
