Pollution – What Are We Doing To Ourselves?
At this point in human evolution environmental pollution from cars, trucks, plains, ships, factories, and processing plants, is the major cause of genetic and immune system damage in humans, animals and plants. These fine particles of industrial and recreational waste enter the body, get stuck and wreck havoc.
Over the course of the past couple of decades there has been a dramatic rise in ailments and diseases of the blood, bone marrow, bone, brain, reproductive organs, respiratory organs, cardiovascular system, as well as a tragic increase of disease among children, including asthma, various forms of mental retardation, birth defects, leukemia and other cancers.
Ironically 80% of carbon monoxide is produced by motorized vehicles, including things like lawn mowers (got to have that green carpet).
The problem is that children and teens show the highest susceptibility due to their developing immune systems, a reduction in infant breast feeding, an increase in immunizations, an increase in indoor activities (or their lack of) and junk food omnipresence.
One of the most vehemently denied consequences of industrial and motor vehicle pollution is leukemia.
Leukemia is a blood and bone marrow cancer in which underdeveloped or abnormal blood cells turn malignant and spread throughout the body. The disease most commonly develops in children and middle aged adults.
The main symptom and likely the main cause is a deterioration of the immune system leading to premature death.
White blood cells (immune system cells) are produced in excessive amounts by the body to protect itself from the daily onslaught of industrial toxins, which in turn enable the proliferation of damaging microorganisms. Once the imbalance is established, the body tries to send out more white blood cells for protection while unable to operate efficiently due to overwhelming toxicity. The quality of the blood cells deteriorates but now the body doesn’t have time/energy to discard of defective cells and so more waste is accumulated and the immune system incapacitated.
In the same manner ozone (O3) levels rise proportionately to the amount of pollution in the environment.
Ozone, a form of oxygen (02) forms a protective layer around the Earth’s atmosphere ensuring that not too much ultraviolet light gets in contact with non-industrial pollutants.
Ozone is also present on the surfaces of rivers, streams, lakes, seas and oceans, and is used for therapeutic purposes in connection with oxygen. The higher the oxygen levels, or put simply, the cleaner the air, the more oxygen gets released from ozone.
But because our planet is no longer the natural paradise it once was, ozone continues to do its job while industrial and motor vehicle pollution exceeds the Earth’s capacity to maintain its natural equilibrium.
And so, as with our overall deteriorating immunity, industrial toxins do not just damage our protective ozone layer, but they are consistently overwhelming the environment to the point that ozone, a molecule consisting of 3 oxygen atoms, is now a damaging substance.
