@James: ‘FYU’ I ‘take the liberty’ of expressing my opinion about female reproduction and sexuality based on the fact that I am a woman.
I did read your entire post and my entire comment was not directed at you alone as I’m sure you realize. Your reaction at this point is based on how my comment made you feel. The sciences and resulting conclusions are still highly biased and nearly never objective (and therefore inaccurate) in matters of female sexuality.
And generally speaking it is completely absurd to have men explain female sexuality to women.
I did not mention the Bronze Age. Elements of patriarchy (FGM) have early roots in the Paleolithic (as you mention). I’m aware that the opinion is shared that organized violence begun around the Bronze Age, but I think that changing a culture in times of hunter-gatherers would have been very difficult and rather fruitless.
Actual patriarchal cultures I think evolved over a lengthy period of time, perhaps the past 20,000 years, with improved organization over the past 10,000 years, having reached all continents over the past 5,000 years.
Further, opinions even among ‘experts’ vary and if you are truly interested in a subject you remain open to new information regardless of how much you already know, which would be the whole point of science.
